This is Just a quickie post to show off two new pinchpot platters I’ve made and the wonderful glazing that came out of the gas kiln – Ohatikaki under and Amy’s Yellow just on the rim that ran down. There was only about an inch of the yellow – it worked really well – a tip from Bob Deane my teacher.
I made these pots after getting great feedback on my roasted veggie with balsamic vinegar and spices and herbs that I prepared. I used to be a non-cook, so when my brother said he uses my recipe, and my mom asked me for it. I was very pleased. Even more so when my family went back for seconds! So I wanted to create something to serve them in. We had a 10 hour pottery marathon workshop day and these are two if the pieces that came out of it. I haven’t had a chance to cook the roasted veggies yet, but my mom had a family dinner where she prepared her complicated and delicious sweet & sour pork, so I offered up the platters for use.
