From tiny pinched goblets and fanciful scenes, to large sawdust-fired Pinchpots, and functional bowls in between – come take a look at my clay work.

The Lounge Gallery is located in the room just to the right of the main office, and in the entryway to the Duke Gallery.

I’m also teaching two art classes for adults in the spring semester (starting in early March) at the Community Arts Center:

Pinch Pots and Coils – Functional to Fanciful Class

P1170762

Starting Monday March 11, 7-9:30 pm

The satisfaction of creating a graceful pot with just the pressure of your fingers and a few tools…is addictive. Pinching & coiling, often the 1st exercises we do in clay, can produce stunning results with more skill. We’ll explore pinching & coiling techniques and craft a style you love. By exploring the shape, foot, rim, texture/design, or firing/glazing…your own style will evolve. Large pots and tiny ones, wide bowls and tall vases, functional or sculptural forms…nature provides inspiration from seashells to ocean waves and spring blossoms.

Create Your Own Basic Artist’s Website Class

Starting Tuesday March 12, 6-8 pm

“Let Cathy Larkin, 20-year PR Pro, potter & photographer, walk you through the steps of building your own basic website, on your domain name, that YOU can maintain. We’ll select your site’s name, write the text, upload photos & decide how to organize it so it looks great; we can even add a blog. The free WordPress.org software is easy to change/update. Don’t worry, I’m an artist AND a bit geeky, but I’ll explain it all in plain English! Materials: If you have a laptop, bring it to class (if not, that’s OK) & regular notebook. Cost; $155 (discount available for CAC members)

Additional costs you will incur: $14 for domain name, plus $7/month for hosting.”
